I dwelled on this question for a very long time - how fundamental is Physics really? And it is not me alone. Thousands of great minds have pondered and dwelled in the same ocean. There are wide arrays of opinions on this, with a phenomenally sophisticated sense of reasoning on both sides. And for the longest time, I think it was a well-accepted argument that Physics IS the fundamental descriptor of the Universe. Rightfully so, because most evidence pointed towards that, as humans, by the sheer ingenuity of the incomprehensible mind, we discovered new pieces to this grand puzzle by and by. That led us to technology, which transformed the civilisation forever in the most observable manner - a way that otherworldly dogmatic views fall short of convincing. With technology came more sophisticated and finer ways to have better observations - helping us build better models of the Universe as we know it.
With technology, another confound emerged: the world got connected at a massive scale. That meant a massive flow of information.
